Funerals

Emily and I played the Bride and Groom for Karen’s recorded wedding assessment as part of her accreditation to become a wedding celebrant. It was great fun as we are an engaged couple planning our wedding. It was a 1950s wedding, and we all went to town on the theme.

Karen wrote the entire ceremony, including the vows and commitments; she chose the entrance and exit music and the reading. She even included remembrance candles for loved ones who had passed away and did a handfasting ceremony!

Karen has a natural warmth and joy; her passion for us, our love story, and the wedding ceremony shone through, as did her sense of humour, which she wove into the script. There were very moving parts that she handled sensitively and laugh-out-loud moments, too. We walked back down the aisle to ‘All Shook Up’ by Elvis while the audience covered us in party poppers!

We hope Karen will be our celebrant when we get married next year.

Karen spoke at our wedding, and she was brilliant. She is a genuine natural - not only is she a lovely, warm individual who bursts with positive energy, but she is also a brilliant raconteur and so delivers a ceremony reading as a top professional.

We are so glad that we chose Karen as a celebrant for my dad’s funeral.

From our very first meeting she was kind, patient and empathetic. Her warm and understanding nature was very comforting at such a difficult time which made arranging the funeral that bit easier. Karen listened so well to each of my brothers and I and came up with a service that was so perfect and really captured the man my dad was. In fact so many people that came told me exactly that.

Karen was the celebrant at the funeral of my father. She was meticulous in her preparation, taking the time to visit us before the funeral to find out about his life. Karen kept us in the loop about her contact with our funeral director, so we knew exactly how logistics would work. On the day she was marvellous - her service was wonderfully respectful with just the right tone. Her reading of our eulogy was very composed but with so much feeling. Thank you, Karen - you helped make the day a fitting tribute to a lovely man.
